How important is Exit Planning?

Clarity

The Value Assessment offers a holistic assessment of the three key elements that define you and your business and brings you clarity in each area.

This assessment generates a list of areas to work on to enable you to become exit ready. This list is called your Master Action Plan (MAP).

Your Business Plan includes:

  • Business Attractiveness Assessment

  • Business Saleability Assessment

  • Business Valuations

  • Business Financial Due Diligence

  • Business Benchmarking

  • Buyer and Exit Analysis

Your Personal Plan includes:

  • Personal Readiness Assessment

Your Financial Plan includes:

  • Personal Financial Readiness

  • Wealth Gap Analysis

Control

Once you have clarity, you can gain control. To implement your Master Action Plan (MAP), you can choose from several options:

Do-It-Yourself

Once you have your Master Action Plan, it is all about implementing it and creating a team of experts around you to support you in doing so. This DIY option is for business owners who are fiercely independent, happy to work on their own and already have a team of exit planning experts around them.

Join a Peer 2 Peer or Mastermind Group

Think and Grow Rich states that a peer advisory board has both an economic and psychological advantage. “This form of cooperative alliance has been the basis of nearly every great fortune. Your understanding of this great truth may definitely determine your financial status.”

It’s great being around people who are on the same journey as you. Utilising the combined knowledge, experience and wisdom of the group makes it easier to overcome challenges through being accountable for the actions you take and supporting each other along the journey. The best part is that it will be more rewarding to celebrate your wins with people who truly understand the process. There is strength and security in numbers and this is what these Peer 2 Peer or Mastermind groups will bring to each member.

Do-It-With-You

This 1:1 coaching programme is designed to accelerate your exit journey. You will have access to our team of experts who are well versed in exit planning and business de-risking.

The 1:1 process follows the Value Creation Process and involves strategically working on key elements of your business, personal and financial plans with regular review meetings to guide you through every step.

It is recommended that you work with an accredited advisor for a minimum of 6 months to ensure the exit planning process has time to bed in. However, there are no fixed term contracts and, because of that, many owners continue to work with us on a regular basis until they exit the business.

Consistency

Value Creation.

It is only through using your Master Action Plan (MAP) to consistently work on your business that you will reach your goals and everything you set out to achieve.

Every 90-days, you will select a set of actions from your MAP and will work on these before reviewing your progress and planning for the following 90 days. A full Value Assessment is carried out every 12 months to ensure that any changes to your business or personal life can be taken into account so that you can strategically plan for the next 12 months.

Completion

This is the Value Realisation stage. At some point, you will exit your business, be it through choice or circumstance.

Following the Value Creation Process will ensure you are ready for when the time comes to exit your business. It will give you the very best chance of a successful exit, providing you with as many options/choices as possible before starting the new chapter of your life.

See where you are now so you can prepare for exit.
